Anti-Cheat for Medal of Honor: Allied Assault | 2021 – 2026

After more than five years, Volute is coming to an end. What started as a small project to help keep Medal of Honor: Allied Assault servers fair and enjoyable grew into something far bigger than I ever expected. I'm incredibly grateful to everyone who trusted the project, provided feedback, reported issues, and helped shape it along the way.

Running an anti-cheat system for a legacy game has always been a challenge, and maintaining the infrastructure behind Volute requires ongoing time and resources. As a result, all Volute services will now be permanently shut down. The website, backend services, and update infrastructure will be taken offline, and no further updates or support will be provided. This marks the final chapter for the project.

Although Volute is ending, the MOHAA community is far from finished. Development around projects like OpenMoHAA is helping to modernise and preserve the game, and the future looks genuinely exciting. It's my hope that stronger and more integrated anti-cheat measures will eventually become part of OpenMoHAA itself, helping ensure fair play in a way that is sustainable for the long term. Contact pstN for more information on this work. If you're looking to stay involved with the community, the best places to connect with other players and server admins are the MOHAA and OpenMoHAA Discord servers (links above). I encourage everyone to continue supporting these projects and the people working to keep the game alive.

To everyone who supported Volute — server admins, players, testers, and community members — thank you. Your enthusiasm for MOHAA and your willingness to work together to improve the multiplayer experience made the project worthwhile. It has been a privilege to contribute to a community that continues to keep this classic game alive decades after its release.
